Well everyone, spring is here (rain and shine) and we wanted to give an update and share news. The most exciting news.... we are expecting Baby Number 2 in October! We are so excited! Allie is fourteen weeks along. When we learn the sex of the baby we will let you know. Mike's unit is deploying in late August or early September. We are sad that he will likely miss the baby being born, but we are holding out for a command decision that will allow him to come home for the birth.
James is chatty and full of energy. Each morning he insists on watching Ratatouille. Despite our efforts, it is the only movie he will sit through. Allies has it nearly memorized. Even the french dialogue! Allie has a calling as the Primary Secretary and Mike has been bounced around in nursery and sub-ing in primary, with no calling yet beyond home teaching. C'est l'eglise. He says not being set apart isn't fair...cause he is missing divine qualification and that extra energy for Sundays;)
While Mike was in Colorado with his unit for the past 3 weeks, Allie and James spent Easter weekend in IL with Mikes family for a b-day, baptism, baby blessing extravaganza. It was wonderful to meet our new newphew/cousin and visit with family. Mike says training was exactly that...training. Being a chemical officer assigned to an aviation unit can be demanding. Mike has to do his CBRN duties on the side of/in addition to being a fulltime aviation operations officer. All with no formal background or training in aviation. But he is rocking it anyway... doing great, as always!
We are currently enjoying the last day of a 4-day weekend. The weather Saturday was not good for our planned zoo trip, but that didn't stop Mike from working on the garden and James' new sandbox. We had to put up chickenwire because something was eating our squash, cucumbers, and potatoes. We think it was rabbits. In the pictures you'll see Mike's 'addition' to the house. He calls it "the Box". Allie calls it the "Lindsays Land of Sand". It weighs about 1200 pounds. How we are gonna move with it??? We'll worry about moving it when the time comes. The plastic turtle at walmart just wasn't big enough. Our prayers and thought go out to you. Enjoy the pics.
